Negroni Week was launched by Imbibe Magazine in 2013 as a celebration of one of the world's greatest cocktails. You can check out the details at https://negroniweek.com
Created in Italy, the origins of the Negroni are largely unknown. The first reported account was from Florence in 1919 when Count Camillo Negroni asked a bartender to strengthen his favourite cocktail by adding gin rather than soda water, with an orange garnish rather than a more traditonal lemon.
Today, there are many variations of the classic Negroni and we have asked Teddy Joseph, one of our Whisky Specialists, to share one of his favourite serves using Roku Japanese gin and Galliano L'Aperitivo...
Sakura Negroni
- 25ml Roku
- 15ml Sweet vermouth
- 10ml Plum Sake
- 25ml Galliano L’Aperitivo
Method: Build and stir over ice in a rocks glass. Garnish with an orange slice.
