Edrington has announced a new Global Caring Policy that will offer additional support to employees around the world who have care responsibilities for a family member that is seriously ill, older, or disabled. At the heart of the policy is the provision of up to five days of paid carers’ leave per year to help ensure employees can support their loved ones when they need to.
“We already offer global Modern Family Leave which provides 26 weeks' paid leave for parents following the birth or adoption of their child and incorporates the widest definition of maternity, paternity, adoption and parental leave policies,” said Global HR Director Veronika Gunn-Boesch.
“The new Global Caring Policy builds on this to address the challenges and impact that other caring responsibilities may have on employees and aims to ensure that they are treated fairly and with empathy by the people they work with.
“Edrington wants to create a culture of support for employees who have caring responsibilities beyond general childcare and make them feel comfortable in discussing these responsibilities with their managers and teams.”
